Message of Salvation

Have you ever done something in your past that was so wrong that you can not forgive yourself?

Do you know the reason why it is that way?

Guilt is that knowledge or emotion that occurs when you realize that the action you have committed has violated your conscience and this gives you unrest. This action might have taken place years ago. It might have occurred against a family member, a friend, neighbor, business colleague, spouse or even your own children.

You may ask why this is so.

Because God, in His infinite wisdom has so set the conscience in the seat of humankind’s mind, that unrest will always follow it when ever someone has violated His holy law.

Modern remedies might include prescribing medicine to ease the anxiety brought about by a guilty conscience. Medicines such as tranquilizers and sedatives are used by some to cover the sting of their thoughts. If they are not accessible, the use of alcohol and other mind altering drugs would be.

This is not to downplay the great advances modern medicine has for us. But when it comes to relieving the guilt brought upon us by a past action, it is better to leave that in the hands of a Great Physician.

Do you feel Scared by your record of sins?

Does your past haunt you? Maybe you did some foolish things when you were young and have turned the page but yet the thought of them still disturbs you.

Does that record destroy your conscience, and makes you feel uneasy about yourself?

Have you ever been in a crowd wondering what it would be like if someone knew something about you and if it came out, could ruin your reputation? Are you afraid to go on a job interview for fear of your past?

Maybe you feel so guilty about some of the decisions you made in the past or are living today that you feel there is no hope.

Well, today can be a life-altering, status-changing, experience that could have everlasting significance for you.

What each of us should know?

When a conscience is disturbed it is because of what God calls sin and God has so set His reflection of holiness on our image that when we have done something contrary to God’s will, our conscience tells us and is persistent in its telling in order to drive us to the remedy God has provided.

The most important point God wants to bring to our attention is:

Sin is not the greatest thing nor is it a permanent thing that cannot be remedied.

The only thing that can rid you of your past is the Amazing Grace of God which is found in Jesus Christ. That’s right - Jesus Christ. You may have heard of Him. But I’ll bet you have no idea what He accomplished on your behalf.

God has cared so much for you that He has set the conscience in the seat of your soul to drive you to Him. He has also provided His son to relieve that conscience by taking away the guilt and cleansing the slate of your past for good. That’s right - an unconditional pardon and it comes freely through the death of Jesus Christ.  But you may ask how?

First, Consider the Love of God

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

And He commanded His people to preach to all and to testify that Jesus Christ is the One appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. He is the one all the prophets testified about, saying that everyone who believes in Him will have their sins forgiven through His name."

Let it be known to you, that through Jesus Christ, forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and by Him everyone who believes is freed from everything "from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.”

Second, consider what it cost the Son of God

But Jesus Christ was wounded and crushed for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace. He was whipped, and we were healed! All of us have strayed away like sheep. We have left God's paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on Him the guilt and sins of us all.

He made Himself nothing; He took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. And in human form He obediently humbled Himself even further by dying a criminal's death on a cross.

He died a criminal’s death. We are the criminals because we broke God’s law

But our Lord Jesus did this for us. He opened His arms on the cross and sacrificed His life so that we might live through Him. He has made peace for us through His blood.

Do you believe the testimony of the Holy Spirit that your sins can be forgiven through Jesus Christ?

Millions of people throughout the ages have put their faith in this testimony and have been transformed by the power of God

No longer will your life be characterized by a guilty conscience because all that you did can be wiped out by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Do you believe the testimony? If so Turn away from your sins and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and follow Him.

Now what do I do?

1. Read the Bible and start with the Gospel of Mark take your time, Listen to what the Lord is teaching you.  Take small passages at a time ask these questions;

            A. Who is speaking?

            B. What is the Lord asking of you?

            C. Ask the Lord to strengthen you with his grace to obey him.

            D. Seek the Lord for his Holy Spirit and he will give Him to you

2. Join a Bible believing Church
